Flora Copilot — Broadband Availability Assistant
Automating Broadband Status Checks — 40% Faster Response Times
Stack: Microsoft Copilot Studio · Power Automate · Zen APIs · Microsoft Teams
Duration: September 2024 – October 2024
The Challenge
Flora Copilot’s support team was handling a high volume of broadband availability status requests from internal staff and field teams. Each check required manually contacting the support desk or navigating external systems — creating unnecessary delay and loading up the team with requests that didn’t require human judgment. The goal was to automate these checks entirely, giving teams instant access to real-time broadband availability data without involving support staff.
The Solution
I developed Flora Copilot — an AI-powered chatbot deployed directly inside Microsoft Teams. The bot connects to Flora’s Zen API to retrieve real-time network availability data and surfaces it to the user in a clean, conversational interface. When a user queries broadband status for a location, the bot handles the lookup, processes the API response, and returns the result instantly — no support ticket, no manual check, no waiting.
Implementation
- Custom Copilot Studio topics for status query handling
- Power Automate flow connecting to the Zen Availability Checker API
- Response formatting for clean output within Teams
- Fallback handling for unsupported locations or API errors
